Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry has organised the return of 41 citizens from Iran to their home country via Turkmenistan.

The ministry said Uzbekistan’s embassies in Ashgabat and Tehran, working jointly with relevant Turkmen authorities, promptly resolved visa issues and arranged transportation for the citizens, Caliber.Az reports, citing Dunyo.

Uzbek nationals were received at the border checkpoints “Sarahs–Serakhs” and “Gowudan–Badjgiiran” with assistance from the Turkmen side.

Diplomats accompanied them and ensured their safe return home.

According to the ministry, the protection of the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens remains an unconditional priority of the country’s foreign policy.
