U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a closed-door meeting with intelligence officials on May 6, according to the official schedule released by the White House.

The president will participate in a classified intelligence briefing at 3:30 p.m. local time. Earlier in the day, at 11:00 a.m., he is also set to convene a policy meeting in the Oval Office. Both engagements will be closed to the press.

The meetings come amid recent developments in U.S. security policy. Earlier, Trump announced a temporary suspension of Operation Project Freedom, a U.S.-led mission aimed at escorting commercial vessels through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
