India’s Ministry of External Affairs stated on May 5 that an attack on the city of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, in which three Indian nationals were injured, is unacceptable.
“The attack on Fujairah that resulted in injury to three Indian nationals is unacceptable. We call for immediate cessation of these hostilities and the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians. India continues to stand for dialogue and diplomacy to deal with the situation, so that peace and stability may be restored across West Asia,” the ministry said in a statement.
India also called for the free and unhindered movement of shipping and trade through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law.
