A tanker crew has reported coming under fire from unidentified forces in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).
The incident occurred while the vessel was located 78 nautical miles north of Fujairah.
UKMTO said all crew members are safe and confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway.
“No environmental impact reported,” the agency said, advising vessels transiting the area to proceed with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.
