Ukraine’s General Staff of the Armed Forces has reported a series of overnight strikes targeting facilities inside Russia and in Russian-occupied territories, saying the operations were aimed at reducing Moscow’s “military and economic potential.”
In a statement released on May 1, Ukrainian forces said they struck the Tuapse oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, where explosions and a fire were seen following the attack. Damage assessments are currently underway, Calliber.Az reports.
The General Staff also reported damage to the AVT-4 primary crude oil processing unit at the Perm oil refinery in Russia’s Perm region, which was likewise followed by a fire.
According to the Ukrainian military, additional strikes hit a range of military infrastructure across occupied territories and Russian regions. These included the destruction of a Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system near Olkhovatka in the Donetsk region, as well as ammunition depots in Rozdolne (Donetsk region) and Rovenky (Luhansk region).
Ukrainian forces also said they targeted a logistics depot near Melitopol in the Zaporizhzhia region, a drone depot in the Dalniy area of Russia’s Belgorod region, and multiple drone control centres and command posts across the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Kherson regions.
