Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he is now “in excellent physical condition” after undergoing treatment for early-stage prostate cancer, which he said has been fully resolved.
In an annual medical report published on the social media platform X, Netanyahu disclosed that doctors detected a malignant tumor during routine follow-up monitoring after a previous prostate procedure, as per Caliber.Az.
According to the statement, the tumor was identified at an early stage during ongoing medical supervision following a successful operation for benign prostatic hyperplasia, which the 76-year-old leader underwent approximately a year and a half ago.
Netanyahu said the cancer was discovered as a “tiny spot measuring less than a centimeter” during his latest examination. He emphasized that treatment was carried out promptly and successfully.
“The treatment eliminated the problem, leaving no trace of it,” he stated.
He added: “I had a small medical problem with my prostate, which was completely resolved. Thank God, it is behind me.”
Netanyahu also explained that he had deliberately postponed the release of information about his condition. He said the decision was made to avoid disclosing the details during the peak of the ongoing war involving the US, Israel, and Iran, arguing that such timing could have enabled Tehran to spread “even more false propaganda against Israel.”
In his remarks, Netanyahu framed his decision to undergo immediate treatment as part of a broader personal and political approach to risk management.
“When I am given timely information about a potential danger, I want to eliminate it immediately,” he wrote, adding: “This is true both at the national and personal level.”
