Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said U.S. President Donald Trump cannot be considered a guarantee of peace, noting that he has about two and a half years left in office.

“Take, for example, the United States speaking about President Trump. President Trump will still be there for another two and a half years, and what do we do afterwards?” Zelenskyy said in an interview with ICTV.

He also warned that the absence of international partners along the front line would leave open the question of how Russia could be deterred in the future.

“If there is no presence of our partners on the contact line, then why wouldn’t the Russians, after some time, launch another offensive? Why? I simply don’t understand. I see no reason. What would restrain them? What?” he added.
