Ukraine says Russia launched a coordinated overnight strike involving ballistic missiles and dozens of drones, according to the country’s armed forces.

On the night of April 21, Russian forces fired two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and deployed 143 attack drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas models. Ukrainian officials said around 80 of the drones were Shahed-type UAVs, Caliber.Az reports.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that, as of 09:00 local time, air defence systems had intercepted or neutralised 116 drones across the north, south and east of the country.

Despite the interceptions, authorities said 22 strike drones hit 17 locations, while debris from downed UAVs was recorded at seven additional sites.
