ChatGPT users across the globe experienced a major outage on April 20, according to data from the outage monitoring service DownDetector.
Thousands of reports flooded in from users unable to access both the mobile app and the web version of the popular AI-powered chatbot. Many users reported that the chatbot stopped responding to requests entirely, while others encountered error messages when attempting to execute commands.
In addition to performance failures, a number of users reported that their chat history had disappeared. According to the complaints, chat lists failed to load, and some individuals were unable to log into the service at all.
