The United States has returned 13 illegally exported artifacts to Egypt, belonging to various periods of ancient Egyptian civilisation.
The handover took place in New York during an official ceremony, where the artifacts were transferred to representatives of Egypt’s consulate general, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The Egyptian side expressed gratitude to its American counterparts for their legal efforts and professionalism during the investigation. Cairo emphasised that the outcome highlights the importance of international responsibility and coordinated efforts to combat the illegal trade in cultural property.
