Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova took part in a high-level meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and parliamentary leaders attending the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Azerbaijan’s parliament said.


Welcoming the speakers, Erdoğan underscored the significance of the assembly and the relevance of its agenda amid growing global challenges. He praised the role of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in fostering dialogue and cooperation among legislatures worldwide, Caliber.Az reports per local media.


The Turkish president expressed confidence that the assembly would help “lay the foundations for a fairer and safer world,” highlighting the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting peace and stability.


Erdoğan also stressed that stronger cooperation between national parliaments is essential to addressing shared global issues, calling for deeper dialogue and mutual understanding among countries.
