U.S. President Donald J. Trump said the Strait of Hormuz is now “completely open” to commercial traffic, while confirming that a naval blockade targeting Iran remains in force.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated: “The Strait of Hormuz is completely open and ready for business and full passage,” adding that the blockade applies “to Iran only” until an ongoing deal with Tehran is fully completed, Caliber.Az reports.
He suggested the process could move quickly, noting that “most of the points are already negotiated.”
The United States has imposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports along the Strait and Persian Gulf. The blockade began on April 13, after peace talks in Islamabad failed.
