The Tuapse oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region is on fire following an attack, according to open-source intelligence analysis by ASTRA.
Residents of the Krasnodar region reported a large number of explosions during the night of April 16. Later, the regional governor said that two children were killed and two adults were injured in an attack on Tuapse attributed to Ukraine. Classes were cancelled in all educational institutions in the city.
Eyewitnesses shared footage showing a fire in Tuapse after the strike. According to ASTRA’s analysis, the Tuapse oil refinery located at 4 Industrialnaya Street is burning. The footage was reportedly taken from Kavkazskaya Street, approximately 1.5 km from the fire.
The Tuapse Refinery operates within the structure of Russian oil company Rosneft and forms an integrated complex together with a marine terminal used for the transshipment of petroleum products.
