Speaker of the Iranian parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has mocked a reported US plan to block the Strait of Hormuz, warning that Americans could soon long for current fuel prices.

Writing on X, Ghalibaf said: “Enjoy the current pump figures. With the so-called 'blockade', Soon you'll be nostalgic for $4–$5 gas.”

He accompanied the post with a mathematical expression, suggesting that disruptions in oil markets amplify broader geopolitical and economic effects.

The comment appears to refer to expected secondary effects on global energy markets if tensions around the Strait of Hormuz escalate further.
