Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described US Vice President J.D. Vance’s trip to Hungary, where he criticised Ukraine for interfering in Hungarian elections, as “not helpful.”

During an interview with Alastair Campbell on The Rest is Politics podcast,  the Ukrainian leader emphasised that he does not intend to interfere in Hungary’s elections and hopes that the Hungarian people will independently decide which party to support, The Guardian reports.

On April 7, Vance, at a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, claimed that Washington had information suggesting Ukrainian intelligence attempted to influence Hungary’s elections. He added that such actions reflect shortcomings within Ukraine’s system.
