Satellite imagery has confirmed the “mass destruction” of aircraft at Khatami Air Base located near Isfahan in Iran, according to a report by Defense Arab.

The images indicate that approximately 12 aircraft were destroyed during recent airstrikes on the facility. Among the aircraft reportedly lost were Grumman F-14 Tomcat fighter jets.

According to the report, bunker-busting bombs were used in the attack to penetrate fortified shelters at the airbase and destroy the aircraft stored inside them.

The satellite data cited in the report suggests that the strikes targeted hardened aircraft shelters in order to ensure the destruction of the planes protected within the structures.
