Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, confirmed that several airlines have suspended flights to Iran due to ongoing regional airspace disruptions.
Turkish Airlines will halt operations to Iran until March 20, while Pegasus Airlines has suspended flights until March 12. Other carriers will not fly to Iran at least until March 9, Uraloğlu said in a post on his X account, Caliber.Az reports.
“Currently, flights to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan operated by Turkish Airlines, AJet, Pegasus, and SunExpress are suspended until the end of March 9. Additionally, Pegasus Airlines has removed flights to Iran from its schedule until March 12, and Turkish Airlines until March 20,” Uraloğlu said.
The minister noted that “the airspace of Iran, Israel, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Syria remains closed, except for Aleppo.” He added that partial flights continue in Oman, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, while air traffic in the UAE operates under controlled and limited conditions. Flights to Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE were also canceled today.
Following a drone crash at Nakhchivan International Airport, two Azerbaijan Airlines passenger planes made scheduled landings at Şehit Bülent Aydın Airport in Iğdır. Passengers were safely transported to Nakhchivan by road, Uraloğlu reported.
He emphasized that authorities continue to monitor airspace around the clock and coordinate with airports and airlines to respond promptly to any changes in the evolving situation.
