On March 3, Greece will deploy a Patriot missile battery to the island of KarEkathimerini reports.

The move comes after Defence Minister Nikos Dendias announced it was sending two frigates and four F-16 fighter jets to Cyprus as security concerns escalate around the Mediterranean island.

The deployment is part of efforts to strengthen the country’s defence against potential aerial threats, particularly after the attack by an Iranian-made drone on a British airbase in Cyprus on March 2.

The installation of the system is expected to be completed during the day.
