The far-right National Rally (RN) party, led by Marine Le Pen, has announced a no-confidence motion against the French government, according to the party’s official page on social media platform X.

Party representatives cited the adoption of a new energy strategy, approved by the government without parliamentary consent, as the reason, Caliber.Az reports.

They estimate the plan will cost €300 billion, to be covered through higher taxes or electricity bills.

“This is energy planning imposed by force, against parliament and contrary to the interests of France and the French people,” the National Rally stated.
