On the night of February 21 to 22, a terror attack occurred in Lviv, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old police officer and injuries to 24 others, the press service of the Lviv Regional Police said on Facebook.
According to law enforcement, at around 00:30 local time a report was received about a break-in at a store on Danylyshyn Street. When the first patrol unit arrived, an explosion occurred. A second blast followed shortly after the arrival of another police team.
Preliminary investigations indicate that improvised explosive devices were used. A police vehicle and a civilian car were damaged in the blasts.
Investigators, bomb disposal experts, and other emergency services worked at the scene. Medical assistance is being provided to those injured.
