Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, leader of the right-wing party Debout la France (France Arise), has warned that Ukraine’s potential accession to the European Union could trigger a direct conflict with Russia.
Speaking on social media platform X, Dupont-Aignan highlighted that the EU’s “Brussels machinery” is actively working to bring Ukraine into its ranks. He cautioned that such a move could create multiple challenges for Europe, as per Caliber.Az.
According to the politician, Ukraine’s EU membership would likely involve Europe in a confrontation with Russia, saturate the EU agricultural market with Ukrainian products, and raise the bloc’s annual contributions to pan-European funds.
Dupont-Aignan described these combined consequences as a “triple threat” resulting from Ukraine’s integration into the European Union.
