The Board of Peace has welcomed Azerbaijan as a founding member of the organisation.

In a post on X, the Board of Peace said it was pleased to include Azerbaijan among the founding members of its growing international body, Caliber.Az reports.

The Board of Peace was unveiled at the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos and was initially presented as a mechanism to support ceasefire efforts, reconstruction, governance and stabilisation in the Gaza Strip under US President Donald Trump’s peace plan. Since its launch, the initiative has been described as evolving to address a wider range of global conflicts beyond Gaza.

Membership in the organisation is set for a three-year term, while countries that contribute $1 billion are eligible to obtain permanent status.

The initiative is rooted in the Comprehensive Plan for Ending the Gaza Conflict, which was presented in September 2025. It has since gained international recognition, including endorsement through United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803 adopted on November 17, 2025.
