BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 14. Connecting the
main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and
providing a simplified regime for the transit of people, vehicles,
and cargo in both directions are among the commitments made by
Armenia under the TRIPP project, Trend reports.

According to the TRIPP Implementation Framework (TIF) released by U.S. Secretary of
State Marco Rubio and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on
January 13, one of the main objectives of the "Trump Route" (TRIPP)
is to provide transport connectivity between the main part of
Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The document
notes that TRIPP is intended to establish unimpeded, multimodal
transit connectivity on the territory of Armenia, contributing to
regional peace, stability, and integration on the basis of respect
for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction of the
states.

"While connecting the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan
Autonomous Republic and creating a vital link in the TransCaspian
Trade Route, it is expected to generate reciprocal benefits for
international and intrastate connectivity for the Republic of
Armenia," the agreement states.

On August 8, in Washington, President of the Republic of
Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, US President Donald Trump, and Armenian
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint declaration.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister of the Republic of
Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Foreign Minister of the Republic of
Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan initialed the draft “Agreement on the
Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the
Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia”.
