Footage has emerged of the first train delivering Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia.
In the early hours of December 19, a freight train operated by the closed joint-stock company Azerbaijan Railways (AZD) transported 1,220 tonnes of AI-95 petrol in 22 wagons to Beyuk Kesik station, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Four hours later, the cargo was dispatched to Georgia, before continuing its journey through Georgian territory to Armenia.
The delivery follows an agreement reached on 28 November in Gabala between Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mger Grigoryan.
Earlier this year, grain from Kazakhstan and Russia was also transported to Armenia via Azerbaijani transit routes, highlighting growing regional transport cooperation.
