Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva on September 17 attended the inauguration of the Meysari Grand Hotel & SPA complex in Meysari village, Shamakhi district.
Mehmet Balçik, Chief Executive Officer of Pasha Hospitality, briefed the president and the First Lady on the newly built complex, describing it as a multifunctional tourism and recreation destination, Caliber.Az reports via state media.
Located at an altitude of 1,050 meters above sea level, Meysari Grand Hotel & SPA comprises a hotel and cottages, restaurants, a conference centre, a spa and wellness centre, sports and recreation facilities, a children’s entertainment centre, parking areas and a helipad.
The complex has 204 rooms in total, including 88 rooms of various categories in the main hotel building and 116 rooms in the cottage section. It also includes three villas.
The wellness centre provides a range of facilities for guests’ relaxation and well-being. The complex has three swimming pools, gym and Pilates halls, a tennis court, a football pitch, a padel court and a children’s entertainment center.
The helipad is designed to allow guests to use air transport when necessary, while restaurants will also operate on the premises.
The complex is also home to the Nasimi Conference Center, which has a capacity of 420 people and is designed to accommodate conferences, meetings, presentations, business gatherings and other events. A separate hall is available for smaller-scale events and meetings.
Indoor and outdoor parking facilities have also been established at the complex.
The project has created 320 new jobs.
Shamakhi, known for its ancient history, rich cultural heritage, scenic landscapes and mild climate, is one of Azerbaijan’s tourism destinations. Its mountain scenery, vineyards, historic monuments and traditions of hospitality make the region suitable for recreation and travel in both summer and winter.
The opening of the new hotel is expected to contribute to the development of tourism infrastructure in Shamakhi by providing additional opportunities for the comfortable accommodation of local and foreign visitors, enabling more effective use of the district’s tourism potential and supporting the development of the local economy.

The President and the First Lady also visited a monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the centre of Shamakhi.
