Erdoğan, Trump to meet on sidelines of UNGA in New York

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and U.S. President Donald Trump are expected to meet in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), according to U.S. Ambassador to Türkiye Tom Barrack.

Erdoğan is expected to travel to New York next week to attend the UN General Assembly sessions, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media. 

The meeting would provide an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss bilateral relations and regional and international issues. However, the exact date of their meeting has not yet been announced.

The high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly will take place in New York, with the general debate scheduled for September 22-28. The theme of the 81st session is "Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations That Delivers for All." The session's agenda includes issues related to peace and security, sustainable development, climate change and environmental protection, human rights, new technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as UN reform.
