BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. Kyrgyzstan and
Lithuania discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation in
various sectors.
According to a statement published by the Kyrgyz Ministry of
Economy and Commerce, the issue was discussed on September 15,
2026, during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Economy and
Commerce Sultan Akhmatov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of
the Republic of Lithuania Kristupas Vaitekūnas.
"The meeting discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation,
including port infrastructure, the jewelry industry, agriculture,
information technology and the financial sector," the statement
said.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue work in the
identified areas in order to further expand trade and economic
cooperation.
Meanwhile, the areas discussed by Kyrgyzstan and Lithuania cover
several sectors with potential for practical business cooperation
and investment. Further engagement in agriculture, information
technology, finance and industry could create opportunities for
stronger ties between businesses and institutions of the two
countries.
Cooperation in these areas could also contribute to diversifying
bilateral trade and expanding the range of goods and services
exchanged between the two sides.
The continued work of the relevant authorities is expected to
help translate the identified areas of cooperation into concrete
projects and new business opportunities, supporting the gradual
expansion of Kyrgyz-Lithuanian economic relations.
