Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has clarified his recent remarks about Warsaw’s ability to prevail in a direct confrontation with Moscow, saying European NATO forces could inflict significant damage on Russia in the event of an attack on the alliance.
In a post on X, Sikorski said his comments in Kyiv had been misunderstood, Caliber.Az reports.
“To clarify what I said in Kyiv. In the event of Russian aggression against NATO, thanks to their air superiority, the air forces of NATO’s European component would be able, even without US involvement, to destroy half of Russia’s oil refineries faster than Ukraine,” Sikorski wrote.
The Polish foreign minister stressed that he “still believes this to be the case.”
