A Russian drone hit a Kyiv-Warsaw passenger train’s locomotive in Ukraine’s Volyn region, just two kilometers from the Polish border near the Yahodyn border crossing, Ukrainian media reports.
Video footage of the strike has been circulating on Ukrainian Telegram channels. No injuries were reported, as a monitoring group had warned the train crew of the threat in advance. Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) noted that railway infrastructure has come under attack for the second consecutive day.

Russian forces struck the locomotive of a passenger train two kilometers from the Polish border in Ukraine’s Volyn region on September 13 and also hit a gas station near the Yahodyn international checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border.
“Today in Volyn, two kilometers from the border with Poland, the enemy struck the locomotive of a passenger train,” Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) said in a statement on September 13.
The company noted that the attack marked the second consecutive strike on railway infrastructure. A monitoring group had warned the train crew of the threat in advance, preventing any casualties.
Information also emerged on social media that Russian forces had struck a gas station near the Yahodyn checkpoint on the Polish border. A large fire reportedly broke out at the site.
Volyn Customs spokesperson Valentyna Chernysh also confirmed the strike to Suspilne, Ukraine’s public broadcaster. According to her, falling debris ignited the gas station building and several trucks parked nearby.
The Yahodyn-Dorohusk border crossing is currently operating normally.
