Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan confirmed during talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin that the United Arab Emirates is ready to provide a venue for negotiations on Ukraine, Russian presidential aide for international affairs Yuri Ushakov said.
Speaking to Izvestia, Ushakov said Moscow considers the initiative acceptable.
“The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi confirmed that the Emirati side is ready to provide its venue, as it did before,” Ushakov said.
“For us, this venue appears quite acceptable,” he added.
According to Ushakov, the parties still have many issues to agree on. “But probably, if there is progress on the territorial issue, it will be easier to move forward toward reaching agreements,” he stressed.
Ushakov also noted that the United States had gained a better understanding of Russia’s position following the visits of US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow.
