Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen have claimed the largest capture of prisoners in the modern history of warfare.

Muhammad al-Bukhaiti, a member of the political bureau of Yemen’s Houthi movement Ansar Allah, said in a post on X that forces supporting Yemen’s internationally recognised government had surrendered en masse amid a sharp escalation in fighting along the country’s western coast, Caliber.Az reports.

According to him, columns of Saudi army personnel and their allies allegedly surrendered to the Houthis in Hays, Al-Mukha, Hodeidah and Taiz, as well as Al Jawf.

He claimed three brigades had handed over their weapons and military equipment to the Houthis.
