Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick says his team is eager to begin its Champions League campaign with a strong performance when it faces Azerbaijan’s Sabah at Old Trafford on September 10.


Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Carrick said Manchester United views the Champions League as an important test against Europe’s strongest clubs and is targeting a successful campaign, Caliber.Az reports per local media


"The Champions League is very important to us. This tournament is a test for us against the strongest teams in Europe. Manchester United are always competing for the highest positions. We want to make a strong start to the tournament, so we are really looking forward to tomorrow's game against Sabah," Carrick said.


The Manchester United-Sabah match will take place at Old Trafford on September 10, with kick-off scheduled for 23:00 GMT+4.
