Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has described his relationship with President Vladimir Putin as a friendly one, saying a common cause and mutual trust unite the two.
In an interview with the Sama Menshova programme, Lavrov said he and Putin were working toward shared goals and had the trust of the Russian people.
He added that if friendship was understood as cooperation based on mutual trust and a willingness to support one another, then he considered his relationship with Putin to fit that definition.
Lavrov also said such a relationship carried significant responsibility.
