Saudi Aramco’s oil facilities in Jizan have come under attack again, just a month after a separate strike temporarily disrupted production at its refinery, the Financial Times (FT) reports.
The latest attack targeted the company’s oil infrastructure on September 7, with the extent of the damage still being assessed, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Jizan, Saudi Arabia’s closest major industrial city to the Yemeni border, has been targeted by Houthi rebels several times in the past.
Saudi Aramco CEO Amin Nasser said last month that the attacks had caused some disruptions to oil production, but stressed that they had not had a material impact on the company’s operations or finances.
The latest strike was comparable in scale to last month’s attack, one of the people familiar with the matter added.
