Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry has announced a new training period in the Azerbaijan Army in line with a training plan approved by Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov.
The ministry said events marking the start of the new training period were held across the army’s branches, army corps, formations, military units and special educational institutions, Caliber.Az reports.
The National Anthem of Azerbaijan was performed at the ceremonies, accompanied by military orchestras.
During the events, military personnel were briefed on the tasks assigned to the Azerbaijan Army by President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, as well as orders and directives issued by the defence minister and the Chief of the General Staff concerning the maintenance of a high level of combat readiness.
The Ministry noted that the new training period would focus on improving the quality and intensity of exercises through the extensive use of advanced training methods and high technologies.
According to officials, taking into account combat experience gained during the 44-day Patriotic War and subsequent military operations, particular attention would be paid to strengthening personnel’s ability to effectively operate modern military equipment, weapons and ammunition under various climatic conditions, difficult terrain, and during both daytime and nighttime.
The strengthening of the military’s material and technical capabilities, introduction of automated command-and-control systems, comprehensive planning and resolution of other organisational issues will create favourable conditions for more effective combat training, the ministry said.
The ceremonies concluded with a solemn march-past by military personnel in front of the grandstand.
