Business communities in Armenia and Türkiye have called for the opening of border crossing points and the establishment of regular trade routes, saying closer economic ties could help strengthen mutual trust between the two countries.
"Trade could become one of the most effective instruments for building confidence and advancing bilateral relations," said a joint statement by the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia and the Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The statement noted that bilateral meetings between business representatives held in Yerevan on September 3–4 marked an important step toward the normalization of relations and the expansion of economic cooperation between Armenia and Türkiye.
During the meetings, entrepreneurs discussed prospects for developing bilateral trade and investment, as well as opportunities for closer cooperation between the two business communities.
The participants emphasized that opening border crossing points and establishing regular trade routes would be essential for ensuring the sustainable development of economic ties.
