Spain has recorded its highest-ever temperature for September, with temperatures reaching 45.7°C in the municipality of El Granado, Andalusia, the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has said.
In a post on X, it noted that the extreme temperature was recorded on Thursday, September 3.
A similar record was previously observed in 2016 in Montoro, where temperatures also reached 45.7°C.
Thus, the absolute September temperature record has been matched for the second time in the history of meteorological observations, forecasters added.
