A radar facility in Sochi was targeted by Ukrainian attack drones overnight, according to the Telegram channel Exilenova+.
The channel said preliminary information indicated that the target was an ORL-A airfield surveillance radar position operated by the Black Sea Air Traffic Management Centre. The system is used to detect and track aircraft in the vicinity of Sochi airport and is part of the radio-technical infrastructure responsible for air traffic control in the area.
Exilenova+ said the reported strike could be linked to broader efforts by Ukraine to disrupt the operation of Russian airports.
“It is likely that the Ukrainian Defence Forces are continuing to implement the Ukrainian president’s plan to block the operation of Russian airports. Problems for their functioning are being created not only by regular closures of airspace, but also by direct strikes on the ground infrastructure that ensures their operation,” the channel said.
