Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is an important element of a multipolar world order.
Speaking at the SCO+ summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Erdoğan said Türkiye would seek to expand co-operation with the organisation in all areas, describing it as a “rising star”, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
He said the SCO could contribute not only to peace and stability but also to the development of secure transport corridors and energy security.
Erdoğan also said Ankara supported linking the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, known as the Middle Corridor, with China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
He added that the Mecca Defence Alliance would make an important contribution to peace and stability in the region and globally.
