Georgia's parliament opened its autumn session on Tuesday, the first Tuesday of September, with the session scheduled to run until the third Friday of December, according to Georgian media reports.
Only one plenary sitting is scheduled to take place during the current parliamentary week.
Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said lawmakers would work on a range of legislative initiatives alongside preparations for broader reforms.
“Alongside the current draft laws, various major reforms are being developed. Important visits by parliamentary committees and friendship groups are also planned during the session. Accordingly, we should use this period to maintain the pace of parliamentary diplomacy,” Papuashvili said.
The autumn session is expected to combine consideration of ongoing legislation with work on the planned reforms and parliamentary diplomatic engagements.
