Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has called Finnish President Alexander Stubb a “real idiot” over his remarks about strikes against Russian territory.

Medvedev made the comments in a post on the Max messaging platform, criticising Stubb’s statements about attacks on Russia and references to the Wildberries marketplace.

“After all, the Finnish president is a real idiot. He talks about defeating Russia through strikes on the Wildberries marketplace. His level of professional competence is rock bottom. He is a moral degenerate and a fool. Then again, he was like that back when he served as Finland’s foreign minister,” Medvedev wrote.

According to the Finnish President, strikes on Russian Wildberries logistics centres could increase pressure on Moscow and encourage it to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine.

Stubb said around 65% of Russians already support ending the war, adding that the attacks could have increased that figure by about 10%.

He also called on international partners to continue providing Ukraine with weapons and funding, including support for strikes against targets deep inside Russia.
