Azerbaijan has launched an English-language course at the Foreign Language Centre of the Institute of Military Management under the National Defence University (NDU), with instructors from the US Defence Language Institute (DLI) taking part.


An opening ceremony was held to mark the start of the four-month course, attended by the institute’s leadership, academic and teaching staff, and military personnel participating in the programme, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Defence Ministry.


The event began with the national anthem of Azerbaijan. Speakers highlighted the importance of foreign-language proficiency as a key component of professional military training and wished participants success in completing the course.




During the four-month programme, DLI instructors will conduct classes aimed at improving participants’ English-language knowledge and skills, including listening, reading, writing and speaking.


Participants were also briefed on the organisation of the course and the education process. The event concluded with commemorative photographs.
