A US Air Force Boeing C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport on the morning of August 25, flight-tracking data confirmed.


The aircraft, operating under the call sign RCH4555, arrived in Moscow after making a stop in Riga, Latvia, on August 23, Flightradar24 reports.


The aircraft’s previous flight history shows Camp Springs, Maryland, among its departure points. Joint Base Andrews, a major US military installation near Washington, D.C., is located in Camp Springs and hosts aircraft used to transport the US president and other senior government officials.


The purpose of the aircraft’s arrival in Moscow remains unclear. No official information has been released regarding the reason for the flight or any potential US delegation associated with it.
