BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. Uzbekistan and
Kazakhstan have agreed to establish a joint venture at Kazakhstan’s
Altynkol railway station, marking a new step toward expanding
bilateral transport and logistics cooperation.


This was reflected in the statement by the Uzbek Ministry of
Transport following the delegation's visit to Kazakhstan on August
10-11 to examine the country’s cross-border transport and logistics
infrastructure and discuss prospects for further bilateral
cooperation.


"An agreement was also reached with the Kazakh side on the
establishment of a joint venture at the terminal of JSC
"Kedentransservice" at Altynkol station," the ministry said.


During the visit, the Uzbek delegation reviewed Kazakhstan’s
experience in organizing rail and multimodal freight transportation
and inspected key logistics facilities along the China-Kazakhstan
border.


The delegation visited the Altynkol railway station,
Kedentransservice terminal, KTZE-Khorgos Gateway dry port, the
Khorgos – Eastern Gate special economic zone and the Khorgos
International Center of Boundary Cooperation.


Particular attention was given to ensuring the uninterrupted
movement of cargo along the China-Kazakhstan-Central Asia route,
expanding container transportation, developing multimodal transport
corridors and diversifying logistics routes.







"During the visit, special attention was paid to ensuring
uninterrupted cargo flows along the China–Kazakhstan–Central Asia
route, expanding container transportation, developing multimodal
transport corridors and diversifying logistics routes," the
statement said.


The discussions come as Central Asian countries seek to
strengthen their role as transit hubs connecting China with
regional and international markets. Improving cross-border
infrastructure and expanding container and multimodal
transportation could help reduce logistics bottlenecks and provide
businesses with more diversified routes for moving goods.


A key outcome of the visit was an agreement with the Kazakh side
to establish a joint venture at the Kedentransservice terminal at
Altynkol railway station.


The planned joint venture could further strengthen practical
cooperation between the two countries in freight transportation and
logistics while supporting the development of more efficient trade
routes connecting Uzbekistan with Kazakhstan, China and other
Central Asian markets.


The visit also provided an opportunity for the two sides to
exchange experience on logistics infrastructure and identify
additional areas for cooperation in the transport sector.
