BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. Tajikistan and
Japan discussed prospects for expanding bilateral relations and
cooperation in areas of mutual interest during a meeting between
senior foreign ministry officials in Dushanbe.
This was reflected in the statement by the Foreign Ministry of
Tajikistan following a meeting between Tajikistan’s Deputy Foreign
Minister Idibek Kalandar and Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister
for Foreign Affairs Eri Arfiya on August 11 during her official
visit to Tajikistan.
The sides reviewed the current state of Tajik-Japanese relations
and exchanged views on prospects for their further development.
"During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and
prospects for further development of Tajik-Japanese relations, as
well as issues of expanding bilateral cooperation in areas of
mutual interest," the ministry said in the statement.
Particular attention was given to expanding bilateral
cooperation in areas of mutual interest, with the officials
discussing opportunities to strengthen engagement and advance
cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting comes as Tajikistan and Japan continue diplomatic
dialogue aimed at broadening bilateral ties and identifying new
areas for practical cooperation.
The officials reaffirmed their interest in maintaining regular
dialogue and further strengthening relations between Tajikistan and
Japan.
The sides also emphasized the importance of continued high-level
contacts and practical initiatives to strengthen bilateral
relations and mutual understanding.
