BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10. A meeting was held
between participants of the 7th Summer Camp for Diaspora Youth and
the heads of Azerbaijan Houses operating abroad.
A total of 33 Azerbaijan Houses operating in 21 countries play a
special role in promoting Azerbaijan internationally.
The meeting was moderated by Leyla Hamzayeva, head of a
department at the State Committee on Work with Diaspora. Ramil
Aliyev, head of the Azerbaijan House in Norway; Mustafa Suleymanov,
head of the Azerbaijan House in Lagodekhi; Ramila Mustafayeva, head
of the Azerbaijan House in Turkistan; and Ibrahim Safarli, head of
the Azerbaijan House in Hungary, shared their knowledge and
experience with diaspora youth.
The diaspora representatives spoke in detail about the
activities of Azerbaijan Houses, their efforts to promote
Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage and realities in their countries of
residence, as well as the challenges they face and the achievements
they have made.
The speakers stressed that summer camps for diaspora youth make
an important contribution to fostering a stronger sense of national
identity among young Azerbaijanis and strengthening their ties with
their homeland.
The discussions and exchange of views generated particular
interest among the young participants.
The 7th Summer Camp for Diaspora Youth, organized by the State
Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan
jointly with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was held from August 2
to 8 and brought together 123 young people from 64 countries.
Previous camps held in Shaki, Shamakhi, Shusha, Nakhchivan, Lachin
and Khankendi brought together more than 700 young people from 84
countries in total.
