Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko may be appointed to lead state-owned oil and gas company Naftogaz, Ukrainian lawmaker Yaroslav Zheleznyak said.

According to Zheleznyak, Sviridenko could initially become acting head of the company before being appointed to the position on a permanent basis. The appointment would require approval from Naftogaz’s supervisory board.

Naftogaz was previously headed by Ukraine’s current Prime Minister, Serhiy Koretsky.
