European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has pledged additional funding for Ukraine's drone production following Russian strikes on Ukrainian defence facilities.
In a post on X, she said Ukraine urgently needs more air defence capabilities and that the issue would be discussed at this week's NATO summit in Ankara, Caliber.Az report.
"Ukraine urgently needs more air defence. We will discuss it this week in Ankara at the NATO Summit. Last week we provided the first €4 billion under our €90 billion loan, to strengthen Ukraine's defence with advanced drone technology. More is coming very soon," she wrote.
Von der Leyen also pledged to work intensively on the 21st package of sanctions and said she would raise the issue of air defence for Ukraine at the NATO summit in Ankara.
Earlier, Russia's Defence Ministry said its forces had damaged Kyiv's Burevestnik plant, which it said manufactures long-range drones, during a large-scale strike using precision-guided weapons.
