Batangas City Integrated High School (BCIHS) in Batangas City, Philippines, has suspended classes and all on-site activities starting June 29 following threats of a shooting at the school.

In an urgent advisory posted on its official Facebook page, the school announced the suspension shortly before midnight on June 28, Caliber.Az reports per Filipino media

The announcement did not provide details about the reported threats involving the school, which is located in Barangay 20.

School officials said the decision was made as a precautionary measure to protect students, teachers, staff, parents and the wider school community.

BCIHS said it is coordinating with law enforcement authorities as they investigate the situation.

The school urged students, parents and personnel to remain calm, avoid sharing unverified information and rely only on official updates from school communication channels.

Classes will resume once authorities complete their assessment and confirm that the school community is safe, officials said.

“Please remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious messages, accounts, or activities to the school administration or the proper authorities,” the school appealed. “The safety of everyone remains our highest priority."
