Israel informed the United States in advance of an operation targeting an underground Hezbollah facility in southern Lebanon, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz stated after the Israeli military destroyed the site.
They said the underground complex consisted of a tunnel more than 200 meters long and over 25 meters deep, located near the village of Majdal Zoun, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The facility allegedly contained several launch shafts and hundreds of munitions that could have been used in attacks against Israel.
Earlier reports said Israeli forces had destroyed the underground tunnel discovered in Majdal Zoun, within the security zone in southern Lebanon.
